Steven Soderbergh pushes his directorial skills with this clever paranormal narrative filmed completely from the perspective of the phantom. When a household featuring mother Rebekah plus Callina Liang as Chloe occupies their fresh home, the lens – representing the ghost – tracks their movements. Chloe seems conscious of the ghostly being, and it seems guarding her. However, the motive remains? This is an entertaining concept that avoids overstaying, including a revelation you might not see coming. Saturday 11 October, 4.35pm, 10.10pm, Sky Cinema

This Creepy Thriller
The director's contained scarefest remains effective without requiring a sequel. Set in 1970s Colorado, a series of disappearances has made the youth anxious. After Finney is taken by the kidnapper and held captive in a cellar, he fears the worst. But the non-functional line in the room keeps ringing, with spooky callers providing assistance, while the prescient dreams from his sibling Gwen could save him. An effective horror. This Dramatic Portrait
In the conflict between faith and wealth, the winner is obvious for materialism in Showalter's brilliantly over-the-top film adaptation about the fallen religious broadcaster and her criminal husband. Garfield portrays the venal Jim, who states at the beginning, “God does not want us to be poor,”. Both individuals commence capitalizing on the people's spiritual convictions. It's a spectacle of bad interior design, excessive cosmetics and insincerity, yet Jessica Chastain manages to present the character with compassion. October 14th, early morning, Film4
